Bavaria-based Sonnen says it will begin offering storage-plus-solar systems in the US that marry its technology – based on Sony’s Fortelion lithium-ion batteries – with panels from German compatriot SolarWorld, which operates a large PV factory in Oregon.
PetersenDean, a large US residential rooftop company with a fast-growing solar division, will offer the systems to its customers.
Additionally, Sonnen announced it is working with Spruce – the financing company recently created through the merger of Clean Power Finance and Kilowatt Financial – to launch a finance product designed specifically for home storage systems in the next few months.
