"The multitude of bids received is testimony to the intense competition for support for photovoltaic ground-based installations," BNetzA president Jochen Homann said.
The average winning bid was significantly below the ceiling price of €112.90 per MWh, the agency stressed.
The tender price average, however, was slightly above the price of €90.20/MWh developers can currently count on in support granted without a tender for ground-based PV arrays of up to 10MW under Germany's Renewable Energies Act (EEG), contradicting the government's claim that tenders would lead to lower electricity prices.
