Companies had made 127 bids for 562MW, but the round was limited to about 200MW. Grid agency BNetzA says the interest points to a strong thirst in the market for ground-based arrays.
BNetzA has not yet revealed the price for winning bids, but president Jochen Homann says it is already clear that the round produced a fall in support levels.
"It is particularly welcome that, next to project developers, for the first time actors such as co-operatives or private citizens won bids this time," Homann stresses.
