GE contemplates its role within global solar sector

General Electric has towering ambitions for onshore wind and, in the wake of its Alstom acquisition, for offshore wind and hydro. But Jérôme Pécresse, chief executive of GE’s new standalone Renewable Energy division, concedes there’s one key energy source for which the US giant has not yet formulated a long-term strategy: solar.
