Arizona-based First Solar is on track to crank out 1.1 gigawatts worth of cells this year, more than doubling the 503 megawatts (MW) it produced last year, according to a new report published by US market researcher iSuppli.
Reaching that level of production would give First Solar a 12.9% cut of the global PV market.
