First Solar ties up PPAs for 72MW of California PV plants

PG&E will buy power from the 32MW Lost Hills project in Kern County and the 40MW Cuyama development in Santa Barbara.

First Solar says construction of the plants could begin as early as next year, depending on the timetables of the project’s eventual owners.

The PPAs are subject to the approval of the California Public Utilities Commission, which is expected to give a decision in the first half of next year.
