The research cell was constructed at First Solar’s manufacturing factory and R & D center in Perrysburg, Ohio, using processes and materials suitable for commercial-scale production.
The test results were certified at the Newport Corporation's Technology and Applications Center (TAC) PV Lab.
This is the ninth substantial update to CdTe record efficiency since 2011, which First Solar contends is confirmation that it is on pace with its established research cell roadmap.
