The EC said a request to launch a probe lodged by German PV module manufacturer SolarWorld contained “sufficient evidence” that the fair-trade measures imposed on Chinese exports to Europe may be being evaded by consignments routed via Taiwan and Malaysia.
SolarWorld – which has fought a long campaign against alleged Chinese trade abuses on both sides of the Atlantic – lodged its request in April, amid wider claims by the EU ProSun lobbying group over widespread flouting of anti-dumping measures put in place by Brussels in 2013.
