Engie Tractebel Energia, the Brazilian unit of Engie, concluded its takeover of a local rooftop PV venture this year, creating Engie Solar and putting the international utility firmly in Brazil's fast-growing rooftop market.
In the next ten years, that market is projected to surge from 2,000 arrays to one million, topping 7GW.
The venture complements Engie's recent investment in pilot solar plants in Brazil and in utility-scale projects through Solairedirect in last year's auction.
