EGP will spend about $1bn building three solar plants following the tender, which the Italian group said confirms it as the country’s leading renewable energy operator.
It will construct the Villanueva and Villanueva 3 plants in the north Mexican state of Coahuila with 427MW and 327MW respectively. The 238 MW Don José PV project will be built in the state of Guanajuato.
