EGP builds Chile's largest PV plant after $3.5bn Endesa deal

Italian renewables giant Enel Green Power (EGP) further ramped up its operations in Chile, announcing a supply deal with a local utility worth up to $3.5bn and the start of work on what it says will be the country’s biggest PV plant.

EGP said the 25-year deal with Endesa Chile – covering the sale of power and green certificates – will enable it to press ahead with a trio of renewable projects totalling 300MW and costing $800m.

Endesa Chile is a fellow subsidiary of Italy’s Enel group. EGP said the PPA with the utility will contribute to development plans that leave it on course to have about 1.2GW
