The large nonresidential sites for the first phase are:
*National Gypsum Company, Mount Holly, will house a 1.2MW system requiring 5,096 rooftop solar panels.
*Highwood Properties, Greensboro, will be outfitted with a 1.6MW system which includes 7,020 solar panels.
*Food Lion, Salisbury, a 1.3MW system involving 5,616 solar panels.
*Childress Klein Properties, Charlotte, 532 kilowatt unit which includes 2,314 solar panels.
These sites were selected based on their ready access to the electrical grid and solar productivity potential, in addition to other essential lease agreement criteria.
Installations will begin immediately, with all phase one systems expected in place by 1 April next year.
