On Wednesday 22 June, DTE Energy will issue a Request for Proposal, with solar developers given a month to flag up their intention to bid projects.
Projects must be within DTE’s service area, centred around Detroit, in southeastern Michigan, and be operational by the end of 2016, in time to qualify for the 30% federal investment tax credit.
Coal-dependent DTE has been stepping up its procurement of renewables in recent years, as it moves to meet Michigan’s 10% renewable portfolio standard for 2015.
