The Clean Power Plan, announced in its entirely last week by the Obama administration, is designed to guide emissions from the US power sector steadily downward over the next decade and a half – giving renewables a big boost as it does so.
The timing of the CPP, however, has some in the renewables industry concerned. States do not need to submit their compliance plans until 2018, and can wait until 2022 to start implementing them.
