DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) will provide $40m in federal funding in the first year. The money will be used to create the network initially comprised of four consortia led by national laboratories within DOE and to solicit proposals for collaborative R&D with industry and academia.
Three of the four planned networks have been formed led by the Ames, Argonne and Pacific Northwest national laboratories.
