Conergy will build the eye-catching array for local beverage group Froico, taking inspiration for the design from the nearby Coeur de Voh, a naturally heart-shaped area of vegetation.
The plant will be completed in the first quarter of next year in New Caledonia, located in the South Pacific, 1,200km east of Australia and currently relying heavily on fossil sources.
David McCallum, managing director of Conergy Australia, said: “It will probably be the world’s first beautiful PV plant, and perhaps the first beautiful power station of any description, anywhere on the planet."
