Colbun did not make financial terms public for the deal – which includes it assuming SunEdison’s 15-year power off-take agreements totaling 350GWh.

The sale by SunEdison is part of the company’s efforts to address its immediate liquidity issues, while it initiates a court-supervised restructuring that aims to “right-size” its debt-laden balance sheet.

Recharge has learned that SunEdison’s drive to shed assets includes its 50% stake in 150MW of PV projects with PPAs in Brazil in partnership with developer Renova.
