CLP India – the local unit of the Hong Kong-based energy group – has the option to acquire the remainder of the Veltoor PV project in Telangana state, which also marks one of the first Indian solar project developed by Suzlon, hitherto one of the country’s leading wind power groups.
Veltoor – which is due to be online by May next year – was the largest of a 210MW clutch of projects Suzlon won in a state tender in January this year as part of an embrace of solar first announced by chairman Tulsi Tanti in 2014.
