The country will hold its 58th quadrennial presidential election on 8 November that will determine a successor to Barack Obama, who is barred from running for a third consecutive term by the US Constitution.
Most polls show Clinton with a 2-4-point lead over Trump.
Among the prominent environmental organisations joining Clinton’s camp are the National Resources Defense Council, NextGen Climate, which billionaire hedge fund manager Tom Steyer leads, and Sierra Club.
