The compact would join up the US, Canadian and Mexican strategies for cutting their national greenhouse gas emissions, while boosting oversight of – and investment into – those efforts.
The plan would help to unleash “billions” of dollars of investment into the North American energy sector – much of it, presumably, into renewables.
