The National Energy Administration (NEA) has called on a range of academic entities, provincial and municipal governments — as well as utilities State Grid and China Southern Power Grid — to help promote the construction of micro grids.
Although the NEA did not disclose any specific financial terms, it issued a number of key development guidelines.
It said that it wants to use demonstration projects of up to 110kV in size to explore ways to integrate micro grids with utility-scale infrastructure and reduce peak power demand.
