China launched a trade probe into US and South Korean polysilicon in July, and followed with a similar investigation into European imports earlier this month.
It is scheduled to report on its findings within a year of the launch dates of each investigation.
This week’s announcement by the Ministry of Commerce (Mofcom) comes after Chinese producers called for any duties to be imposed to be levied retroactively to account for alleged damage to the industry following the investigation’s end date, set at 30 June 2012 for the US and Korean investigation.
