Catalina Solar 2, located in California's Mojave Desert, has a secured 20-year PPA with an unnamed customer.
EDF is planning to sell the project, alongside two others in California, to Dominion, a major East Coast utility.
Commercial operation is expected in the second quarter of 2015.
