The Mashiki development will go ahead following an agreement between the PV group and the authorities in Kumamoto and Mashiki Town.
The array – which will also be the prefecture’s largest solar plant – will supply Kyushu Electric Power Co. under a 20-year power contract with a feed-in tariff of 36 yen/kWh ($0.30).
The Mashiki plant is expected to enter service in the first quarter of 2017.
