The company announced that it has been selected by the Administration Committee of Baotou National Rare Earth Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, abbreviated CPT, to design, install, operate and maintain the plant, which will be by far its largest.
A feasibility study and further government approvals are required before the project can go forward. Canadian Solar cautioned that no binding commitments will be made until those hurdles are cleared.
