The PV group joins other major businesses as backers of the GSC, which was set up by a group of regional and national associations during the COP21 climate talks to give the solar sector a global, co-ordinated voice.
Other founding corporate members include Enel Green Power, Unilever, JinkoSolar, ABB, RWE, E.ON and SolarWorld.
Qu said the GSC’s members will spend the coming months working up recommendations and initiatives, with the first global meeting of the new body set for Intersolar Munich in June.
