The company, best known for its net 370MW Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System now under construction, filed an Application for Certification with the California Energy Commission (CEC) for the Hidden Hills Solar Electric Generating System on Friday.
BrightSource says the project would be built on 3,277 acres (13 sq km) of undeveloped private land in Inyo County, California, 45 miles (72 km) west of Las Vegas, and designated by the county as a renewable energy area (though the CEC is responsible for permitting this project).
