In an interview with the local Band TV station late Sunday night, mines and energy minister Eduardo Braga said that the government has decided to exempt PV equipment from federal Pis/Cofins taxes.
He also said that the government is planning to offer cheap financing for rooftop solar.
High taxes and lack of financing have been some of the biggest barriers to the expansion of rooftop solar since the country's 2012 net-metering regulations were put in place.
