The Australian Anti-Dumping Commission proposes to take no action after an investigation prompted by Adelaide-based Tindo Solar.
Like some of its counterparts in Europe and the US, where tariffs or other measures have been imposed, Tindo – Australia’s only module-maker – claimed it was the victim of predatory competition from Chinese imports being sold at artificially low prices.
The commission decided that dumping had occurred by Chinese producers at an average margin of 3.9%.
