Chinese PV giant Yingli Solar criticised the “harsh, protectionist tariffs” but insisted it remains “deeply committed” to the US market.
The Chinese commerce ministry claimed the decision “abuses trade remedy measures, and damages the legitimate rights of Chinese companies”, adding that the US is failing to respect World Trade Organization rules.
Yingli – the world’s biggest module supplier in 2013 – faces an anti-dumping rate of 52% and anti-subsidy levy of 39% under the sanctions, which yesterday finalised measures first imposed in the summer.
