The project, developed by Pennsylvania-based Community Energy, will be renamed Amazon Solar Farm US East, and is due on-line by October 2016 – in plenty of time to beat the reduction of the investment tax credit at the start of 2017.
The PV array – set to become the largest in Virginia, and among the largest east of the Mississippi River – will deliver an estimated 170,000MWh onto grids that supply current and future AWS Cloud datacenters.
