Under the terms of the deal, Evatech’s primary panel factory will be closed and re-built near A-Power’s headquarters in the city of Shenyang, Liaoning province, 100 miles from China’s shared border with North Korea.
Kyoto-based Evatech, which makes amorphous silicon (aSi) thin-film panels, has been stuck in administration in Japan as it looks for ways to restructure its debt.
China is already Evatech’s largest foreign market, with branch offices in Shanghai and Taiwan.
