All told, 30 solar developers bid 5.5GW of capacity into the fiercely competitive 500MW round, with the capacity to be built within a large solar park in Andhra Pradesh state.

Just two of those 30 bidders – Suzlon and Kolkata-based IPP CESC – were not waved through to the second round, Bridge to India says.

On 3 November, the remaining developers in the Andhra Pradesh tender will be allowed to revise their bids after seeing their competitors’ offers, and the 500MW of capacity will be awarded to the lowest bidders.
