The plant, sited over 250 hectares in the Bordeaux region of France, will generate more than 350GWh per year via one million solar modules supplied by Yingli Solar, Trina Solar and Canadian Solar.
The project cost about €360m ($387m), to be recouped through selling power at an estimated €105/MWh over 20 years. At that price, Cestas’ output will cost less than nuclear power.
