Swiss companies – “who will be among Masdar City’s first tenants”, according to Masdar – will take a lead role in designing and building the village.
The move follows on the heels of a memorandum of understanding signed in January between UAE and Swiss officials regarding research and technology transfers for renewable-energy projects.
