Industry body Scottish Renewables says this has helped the renewable electricity sector expand by more than 10% a year and support more than 11,000 jobs in the country.

Since the end of 2008, onshore wind in Scotland has seen a total investment of some £1.62bn to add 1.16GW of capacity – a cost of £1.40/MW, according to Scottish Renewables’ figures.
