Wind and hydro to flourish but fossils maintain grip, says EIA

Renewable sources, including hydropower, will see their share of total electricity generation rise to 23% by 2035 from a 2008 level of 18%, says the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).

Although renewables will be the fastest-growing source of power production, more than 80% of that expansion will be down to increased generation from wind and hydro, predicts the EIA’s International Energy Outlook 2011.
