On 17 August the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) published a report accusing OPIC and the US Export-Import Bank (Ex-Im) of offering cheap loans to solar developers in India on the mandatory condition that they buy equipment from US companies.
Ex-Im’s explicit mission is to finance projects abroad that will benefit US exports.
However, OPIC unequivocally states that it “does not require its clients to procure US goods and services”.
