At the launch of a document spelling out the UK’s position for the forthcoming climate negotiations, entitled “the Road to Copenhagen”, Prime Minister Gordon Brown urged countries to worth together to ensure that the fund starts disbursing finance from 2013, and that by 2020 it is receiving $100bn per year. He said that the UK would play its part, providing new finance on top of existing development assistance commitments.
