Suzlon launched the effort to retrofit its 1,251 blade sets after around 179 blade sets showed cracks in 2007 and one blade broke off from a turbine in Illinois. The issue caused significant damage to the company’s share price, and the news that the retrofit has been completed may no help boost sales, particularly in the US.

Suzlon is the world’s fifth largest turbine manufacturer, or fourth if it’ REpower subsidiary is included.
