According to Suntech, the independent court appointee will replace Javier Romero as general manager of the Global Solar Fund (GSF) investment operation.

The Chinese group says it has also successfully applied to freeze the worldwide assets of Romero and an entity called GSF Capital – Suntech’s minority partner in GSF, which also exercised operational control of the investment fund.

Suntech – the world’s biggest module-maker – announced last month that it was investigating a possible fraud involving €560m ($687m) of German government bonds pledged to it as security in connection with an investment it made in GSF.
