Sumitomo has purchased the stake in Stanton Wind Energy, which owns the Stanton Wind Farm in Martin County, Texas, from AIG Financial Products, a subsidiary of state controlled insurance giant AIG. The Stanton facility has 80 1.5 MW GE turbines and started commercial production in February 2008.
The remaining shares in the company are held by GE Energy Financial Services and Invenergy group.
