The utility has launched a dedicated wind equity scheme in a bid to improve its ability to sell clean power direct to corporate customers.

Statkraft is initially planning to invest in three to five wind farms, mainly in Scotland, each with a capacity of 7MW to 20MW.

Statkraft chief executive Christian Rynning-Tønnesen says the scheme will see the company take a minority stake in a series of wind energy projects that are currently struggling to secure financing.
