The conditional offer of the loan guarantee to Solyndra was announced in March. A handful of other renewable energy companies have also received conditional offers from the loan guarantee program (LGP) as Energy Secretary Steven Chu sought to resurrect a federal support that languished under the Bush Administration.
This marks the first completed financing under the LGP, which was expanded through Barrack Obama’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and it’s a big one.
