MCT’s flagship 1.2-megawatt SeaGen device, which has been operating in Northern Ireland’s Strangford Lough in April 2008 and will be deployed in Canada’s Bay of Fundy next year, is an twin axial turbine that works much like an ‘underwater windmill’ with rotors driven by the flow of tidal currents.
