Showa Shell Solar is a subsidiary of Showa Shell Sekiyu, which is in turn controlled by oil and gas major Shell and Saudi Arabian state oil company Saudi Aramco. The company produces thin-film solar panels using copper, indium and selenium (CIS) technology.
The company is opening two new overseas offices in Northern California and Munich, respectively, as it movest towards being able to sell 1GW of panels.
