The long-simmering feud over the SFFL fund came to an end on 11 November when the UK's finance minister, Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne, announced Scotland will be able to tap half of the roughly £200m ($318.9m) sitting frozen in the fund from next year.

The money will likely be pumped into infrastructural upgrades at ports such as Leith and Dundee, in order to lay the foundation for future renewables contracts.
