The Scottish government plans to boost support for tidal farms but end it altogether for large-scale biomass-fired electricity.

Yesterday Westminster unveiled its long-overdue RO banding review proposals, which seek to massively increase support for wave and tidal projects up to 30MW and implement an annual degression for on- and offshore wind.

Scotland – whose RO scheme is interlinked with that of England and Wales, but which has several unique features – broadly supports the UK national proposals, with several important exceptions.
