The verdict by the independent Climate Change Authority (CCA) – which was expected following a preliminary decision in October – backs the existing target of 41 terawatt hours of renewable generation by 2020.
The decision comes a relief to Australia’s renewables sector, which has hailed the RET as one of the world’s most ambitious policies and responsible for spurring major demand for clean power.
