Moe also rejected criticism that Norway has been too slow to embrace renewables. “Today we are moving at the same speed with renewables as we do with fossil fuels. A lot of electricity grids will be built in Norway over the next few years, at a rate not seen since the 1960s and 1970s.”
Speaking at the launch of the International Energy Agency's (IEA’s) report Energy Technology Perspectives 2012, Moe said the Norwegian-Swedish green certificate scheme, which started operating this year, should greatly help to support “low-hanging fruit among new renewable energy technologies”.
